📌 King Charles’ US visit aims to revive ties
King Charles and Queen Camilla’s state visit to the United States is intended to renew UK-US relations at a time of political tension and heightened security concerns following the recent shooting incident in Washington. The visit is expected to proceed with only limited security adjustments and will include meetings with President Trump, events in Washington, New York, and Virginia, as well as an address by the King to Congress. UK officials say the trip is designed to highlight shared history, military cooperation, investment, tourism, education, and people-to-people links between the two countries.

📌 Iran war accelerates the global shift to clean energy
The war in Iran and continued disruption in the Strait of Hormuz have pushed oil-dependent countries to look more urgently for alternative energy sources, boosting demand for Chinese solar panels, batteries, and electric vehicles. China’s clean-energy exports reached record highs in March, with emerging markets in Asia and Africa driving much of the increase. Analysts say repeated fuel-price shocks are strengthening the strategic and economic case for renewables, while China’s dominance in solar, battery, and EV supply chains is translating into greater geopolitical and commercial influence.

📌 Iran’s foreign minister arrives in Russia
Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi arrived in Russia as part of a regional diplomatic tour following visits to Pakistan and Oman, amid efforts to contain rising regional tensions. Araghchi said the Moscow trip would help Iran review war developments and coordinate positions with Russia. He noted that talks in Pakistan made some progress but ultimately fell short because of what he described as excessive US demands. In Oman, discussions focused on shared interests in the Strait of Hormuz and continued expert-level coordination.
