Canada removed Syria from its list of foreign state supporters of terrorism and delisted Hayat Tahrir al-Sham (HTS) from its terrorist entities list. Ottawa said the step aligns with moves by allies such as the UK and the U.S., and cited actions by Syria’s transitional government aimed at stability, inclusive governance, and coordination with international partners on regional stability and counter-terrorism.
