📌 Zelensky to BBC: “Putin has started World War Three and must be stopped”
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky warned in a BBC interview that Putin has “started World War Three,” stressing that stopping him requires sustained military and economic pressure. He rejected any territorial concessions or withdrawal from strategic positions in exchange for a ceasefire, arguing this would weaken Ukraine and abandon its people. Zelensky said victory means preserving independence, halting the fighting, and ultimately regaining occupied territories when conditions allow, emphasizing the need for long-term security guarantees before any elections.

📌 Mexico’s Army Special Forces lead raid on Jalisco cartel
Mexico said Army Special Forces, backed by Air Force aircraft and the National Guard, led an operation in Jalisco in which CJNG leader Nemesio “El Mencho” Oseguera Cervantes was reportedly fatally wounded after troops came under fire. Authorities said several cartel members were killed, injured, or detained, and heavy weapons were seized. The raid highlights the military’s expanding role in domestic security and has raised fears of retaliatory violence.

📌 EU rejects any increase in US tariffs: “A deal is a deal”
The European Commission sought full clarification from Washington after the US Supreme Court struck down Trump’s global tariffs and he responded with new temporary tariffs of 10%, later raised to 15%. Brussels said the move undermines last year’s trade framework, stressing that “a deal is a deal.” The EU warned the new measures could remove agreed exemptions, weaken its competitive position, and create uncertainty for businesses and global markets.
